Here we go...

I've been thinking about starting a blog for a while now, and looks like the time has come! So hello there! I am currently on my way back from San Francisco where I was for a few days this week, on home to good old Hoboken. I must say, I fell a little bit in love with San Fran in my short stay and am sad that I didn't get to even touch the surface of exploring the city.

BUT this, did happen:

Why yes, I ran a half marathon for kicks!
Yup, on my quest to go on a long run - my mission was to head to the Golden Gate Bridge, I wound up not only completing slightly more than a half marathon, but blowing my PR (2:07) out of the water while just having a grand old time enjoying the sites along the way.

Pure bliss. And sweatiness.

I guess I should mention (if the title of the blog doesn't give it away...) that I am pretty fitness obsessed. I LOVE running, lifting and anything that has me working up a sweat. I'm on a mission to basically get in the best shape of my life. I will save my history as far as how far I have come for another post but let's just say it is an ever evolving process. I've spent the past few months revamping my lifestyle even more. As in, eating clean. Cutting out the processed crap, not much alcohol, and approaching food as fuel. I've leaned out significantly as a result, and keep saying all I want is abs. While yes, that is a goal; I also just love feeling energized, ready to tackle the day, keep up with my busy schedule (full time job plus a few freelance ones on the side...) and just HAPPY with myself.

I have a hard time comprehending how people do not like being active (the endorphins, the HIGH!) but I guess I am also at the extreme end of things as a former heavy, or rather, yes, fat, person. As I am sitting here, listening to some of my favorite running songs, I am actually getting the itch to run again. As if 13 miles didn't happen earlier. Good thing I am confined to a plane at the moment! I am a strange bird, I know.

So, here we have it. Welcome to my life, and my journey. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! And I will leave you with a little bit of what I got to enjoy this morning...

Start of the run at the Bay Bridge

Fisherman's Wharf

Made it! Golden Gate Bridge!

Simply beautiful.
